The Webinar Subgroup of IAWE Group on Climate Change, co-chaired by Richard Turner (Earth Sciences New Zealand, New Zealand) and Teng Wu (University at Buffalo, USA) has recently hosted its inaugural webinar series of presentations from well-known and internationally respected climate, meteorology, and engineering experts that are informative and pitched towards an engineering audience.

The IAWE Task Group on Climate Change, co-chaired by Teng Wu (University at Buffalo, USA) and Hassan Hemida (University of Birmingham, UK) was formed in 2025 for the purpose of reviewing and assessing existing climate science data and investigating how climate change will alter wind conditions at different regions (i.e., Americas, Asian-Oceania, and Europe-Africa). In addition, this Task Group will review the current adaptation plans (e.g., robust decision making) and mitigation strategies (e.g., advancing codes and standards) that help us fight against climate change with equitable response. These objectives will be achieved by organizing the IAWE Workshop on Climate Change each year, initiating IAWE Seminar Series on Climate Change, and preparing an IAWE Report on Climate Change.
