On 17th September 2003, at 8.30 p.m., in Santa Margherita (Genoa, Italy), IAWE became a formal and legal entity. The deed prepared and underwritten by Notary Federico Cattanei, was signed by Masaru Matsumoto (IAWE Asia-Pacific Representative), Giuseppe Piccardo (IAWE Secretary General) and Giovanni Solari (IAWE President) at the presence of two witnesses, Luigi Carassale (Assistant Professor, DISEG) and Chiara Calderini (Post-Doc Researcher, DISEG). In accordance with Italian laws, their presence was necessary due to the International character of the deed and a foreign underwriter.
